House & Building Portraits
House Portraits
Fine art house portraits by a Royal College of Art–trained painter and printmaker, made in New York City. Commissioned one at a time, in oil, mixed media, or works on paper.
The place you know by heart.
A home is more than an address. It's the front door you've painted three times, the window where the cat sits, the garden that finally came good.
My commissioned house portraits capture those details, working from your photographs or from a visit to sketch the building in person. They make a lasting gift for a housewarming, a wedding, or the bittersweet moment of moving on from a place that's held a lot of life. I'll work with you on the season, the light, and whether to include the car in the drive or the dog on the step, so the finished piece feels like your home and not just a building.
Commissions typically take four to six weeks, and I'm happy to talk through size and framing before we start.

Church & Building Commissions
Every parish has a portrait waiting.
Every church has a personality: the way its spire cuts into a winter sky, the brick warming in late afternoon light, the bare trees that frame it from the pavement across the road. My commissioned paintings capture that character, working from photographs you provide or that I take on a visit to the building itself.
Whether it's a parish celebrating an anniversary, a gift for a retiring vicar, or simply the church you've walked past every morning for twenty years, I'll create an original piece that feels like your view of it, not a postcard.
Commissions typically take four to six weeks from first conversation to finished painting, and I'm happy to talk through size, framing, and colour palette before we begin. Get in touch to start the conversation.
How a Commission Works
01 — Inquiry Tell me about your animal and what you have in mind. Size, medium, where the piece will live, whether there is a date you are working toward.
02 — Conversation We talk. I ask questions that may seem odd — how she moves, what she does when you come home, what color you always associate with her. This is where the portrait actually begins.
03 — Reference & Agreement You send photographs; I will guide you on what is useful. We confirm size, medium, timeline, and investment, and a [50%] deposit reserves your place in the studio schedule.
04 — Painting I work. You will receive progress images at key stages, and there is one round of refinement built in before I call it finished.
05 — Delivery Final balance, then professional packing and shipping. [Framing available on request.]
Timeline note
Current turnaround is approximately 8-10 weeks from reference approval. Holiday commissions should be booked by October 31st.
